Djokovic Announces Split with Coach Andy Murray
After beginning their collaboration on November 23, 2024, Djokovic announced on his social media the end of his partnership with Andy Murray. Initially a rival, the Brit had joined the Serb’s team just weeks after announcing his retirement, much to everyone’s surprise.
"Thank you, Coach Andy, for all the hard work, the fun, and the support over the last six months, both on and off the court. I truly enjoyed deepening our friendship together," he wrote on his X account.
Despite reaching the semifinals at the Australian Open and the finals in Miami, the former world No. 1 has had a tough first half of the season. He was eliminated four times in his opening match, including three times in Masters 1000 events (Indian Wells, Monte Carlo, and Madrid). Withdrawing from Rome, Djokovic has now entered the Geneva 250 tournament.
