Shame for Djokovic and it was an accident but he did hurt an official, so it is the rules

It's not bad luck. It's been coming from a long time. The way he takes MTO's at important junctures of a match when he is behind, tired, etc..The way he smashes rackets in his matches and all so it came at a very appropriate time i would say.?

Djokovic is so tough and passionate but rules are for everyone including him. Hopefully he will apologize and learn from his poor judgment. That is what leaders do.

Novak has shown a lot of bad decisions lately. Sometimes that huge ego pushes him to bad decisions.

?? It is officially confirmed that the biggest Joker in tennis history is Novak Jokervic. This was pathetic behaviour on the court and then he wants to be the GOAT lmfao he has become a BOAT instead that will be sinking in the Mediterranean. Finally, to make matters worse he didn't have the balls to face the media once again shows what a clown he has become and to think he is the leader of the ATP tennis player council ??????

Obviously not trying to hurt anyone but was also intentionally hitting a ball in anger without regard to consequence, disqualifying him goes by rule, he didnt complain, seems harsh but have ensure no one is ever hurt by normal fit of anger, break a racquet over your own head or shove a ball in your mouth if pissed

I’m not a joker fan but a shame for him. This sets a new tone now. Really should be harder on jerks like Kyrgios

Really stupid, and bad luck. In truth although I am a Novak fan, I think Medvedev is going to win and would have beaten him.

I believe from the videos that it wasn't just a touch, rather he hit the ball behind him which then hit a female lines judge in the throat.

It wasn't intentional but the rules are there to safe guard everyone for the good of the sport. It's a tad unfair but rules can seem like that some times.

I hope the nay-sayers and haters don't hold this against him now after all the good he's been doing for his fellow players and the sport recently.

Painful lesson but people have been defaulted in History making Grand Slam finals for a lot less so.....they had to be consistent

A stupid rule!!!! How stupid you are. Maybe he will grow up. Rafa...NEVER has happened. Never done it. Never broke a racket in anger. You right . Probably the only way he would lose but that is the result. He will never forget this.
