Really stupid, and bad luck. In truth although I am a Novak fan, I think Medvedev is going to win and would have beaten him.

I believe from the videos that it wasn't just a touch, rather he hit the ball behind him which then hit a female lines judge in the throat.

It wasn't intentional but the rules are there to safe guard everyone for the good of the sport. It's a tad unfair but rules can seem like that some times.

I hope the nay-sayers and haters don't hold this against him now after all the good he's been doing for his fellow players and the sport recently.
