Djokovic far too strong for Rune at Wimbledon!
The hoped-for battle between Novak Djokovic and Holger Rune in the Round of 16 at Wimbledon didn't quite materialize. The Serb was far too strong for the Dane, winning comfortably in two hours and three short sets (6-3, 6-4, 6-2).
If not everyone was yet reassured about the state of the knee and the physical condition of the current world no. 2, that's now a thing of the past. Impeccable in all areas of the game, he gave his young opponent no chance. He won all his service games, and had just 2 break points to defend, compared to Rune's 14.
Djokovic will be playing in his 15th Wimbledon quarter-final, his 58th Grand Slam. Out of the ordinary. He will face Alex De Minaur, provided the Australian has recovered after appearing to injure himself on match point against Arthur Fils.
