Djokovic looks back on his victory over Federer at Wimbledon 2019: He was the better player

Novak Djokovic was recently asked about his legendary victory over Roger Federer in the final of the 2019 edition of Wimbledon. As a reminder, the Serb had been dominated overall, and had even had to save some coronation balls on Federer's serve.

Acknowledging that the Swiss had played better than him that day, he explained: "It was a match in which he was the better player. You know, statistically, if you look, he won more points, simply because all the statistics were on his side. He broke my serve and he was serving for the win, I think at 8-7 in the 5ᵉ set, 40-15.

You know, I just tried to make him play, to make him earn his win. It was probably the most nerve-wracking match I've ever been involved in, but I found a way to win it."
