Djokovic warns Sinner: "It's one thing to win your first two Grand Slams and become world number 1..."
In his lengthy interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, Novak Djokovic touched on a wide range of subjects, not least Jannik Sinner's current level.
Asked what advice he could give the current world number 1, he declared: "It seems to me that he's doing well even without my advice. However, it's one thing to win your first two Grand Slams and become world number 1, and quite another to stay at that level for many years. To do that, you first need to surround yourself with a competent team you can trust.
You also need to find the right balance between your professional and personal life. But at the end of the day, we're all different in an individual sport. So, what works for me may not necessarily work for you, but it seems to me that Jannik has done it. He understands what he needs.
The next objective will be to find the right formula to invest in his body to the best of his ability to prevent injury, stay healthy, motivated and, above all, passionate about tennis."
