Dominated by Kenin, Garcia makes no secret of her disappointment: "I wasn't really able to put my game down."

Dominated by Kenin, Garcia makes no secret of her disappointment: I wasn't really able to put my game down.

Unfortunately for the French public, Caroline Garcia once again disappointed. After a very laborious first round (victory 4-6, 7-5, 6-2), she was largely dominated by Kenin on Wednesday (6-3, 6-3). Unable to free herself sufficiently to come back, she stalled once again in the second round of the French Open.

When asked about this rather disappointing result, Garcia admitted she was disappointed, but also somewhat fatalistic: "I'm disappointed to have lost today, obviously. I don't think I really managed to settle my game. That's what cost me the match today. She didn't give me much space.

Kenin's game is difficult. She takes the ball early, she changes direction a lot, she moves you around a lot, she takes a lot of time away from you, she returns quite well. So that takes away a lot of my strengths. Today, she was stronger.

Asked about her ever-aggressive game plan, the Frenchwoman replied: "Are you new? (laughs) I've been playing like this for 15 years. No, I've always kind of kept my game identity. That's the way I play best. Sometimes I try to add a little more effect, or wait a little longer. But believe me, it's not a pretty sight (smile).
