Draper strengthens his team: world No. 8 hires former Murray coach
Jack Draper is coming off the best season of his career on the main tour. After winning his first Masters 1000 title at Indian Wells, the Brit also reached the world top 5 for the first time in his career (No. 4).
Currently injured in his left arm, the left-hander withdrew before his second round at the US Open against Zizou Bergs and subsequently ended his season shortly after.
While he will be present at UTS London in early December to prepare for the 2026 season, the 23-year-old Draper has already made a significant decision for the coming weeks.
Indeed, the Sutton native has decided to hire Jamie Delgado as his new head coach, according to reports from The Times. The 48-year-old, whose collaboration with Grigor Dimitrov ended on September 23rd, will therefore resume work with Draper.
In the past, Delgado also worked with Andy Murray, and he was the Scottish champion's coach between 2016 and 2021. Meanwhile, James Trotman, Draper's current full-time coach, will remain by his side, but he will travel less frequently with his protégé in the coming months.
