Adrian Mannarino stepped onto the court this Friday in Shanghai with confidence and was determined to play a trick on his opponent of the day, Francisco Cerundolo.
The match started well for the Frenchman, who managed to break his opponent during the 5th game. But the Argentine managed to catch up in stride and led the Frenchman to a tie-break, which he won 7 points to 3.
In the second set, Mannarino once again won Cerundolo's service, before giving it back a few minutes later.
A new tie-break was played to decide between the two men, once again won by the Argentine with a score of 7 points to 4.
Winner 7-6, 7-6, Cerundolo will face Zizou Bergs or Casper Ruud in the next round.
