"Except for Sinner and Alcaraz, the level is weak," Bertolucci not gentle on the progress of the US Open

The US Open is nearing its conclusion with the final women's and men's quarterfinals being played this Wednesday.
On the men's side, the top favorites Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz have not been seriously challenged, much like Novak Djokovic, who is still in the final stages of a Grand Slam at 38 years old.
Former player and regular media commentator Paolo Bertolucci believes that both the suspense and the quality of the matches have been lacking so far:
"I'm going to be honest. The level of the US Open this year is not very high. Except for the two aliens Sinner and Alcaraz, the level behind them is weak.
Before, in addition to the four phenomena (Federer, Nadal, Djokovic, and Murray), you had other players who gave their all, who had talent and a high level. Today, it's hard to have four players like that," he stated on the podcast La Telefonata.
Medvedev, Rublev, Zverev, Fritz are just not at par with Big 2.
Let's hope some great talent emerges soon.
