Fearnley unfiltered about the atmosphere at his match: "Some fans were very drunk".
Jacob Fearnley will play in the 3rd round of a Grand Slam for the first time in his career, after beating Arthur Cazaux in four sets on Wednesday.
Despite the atmosphere created by the French fans and the bar on one side of the court, the Briton managed to stay in his own bubble.
At the press conference, he was asked about the playing conditions he faced: "It was an interesting experience. I hadn't paid much attention to the court before I went there, so when I saw the bar next to it, I thought there was going to be a rowdy atmosphere.
I settled into the match and managed to block out the noise. Of course, some of the fans were very drunk.
The French fans were very good at what they did.
There was even someone talking very loudly at the bar, and I thought he was trying to destabilize me, but I realized he was on my side. He was even excluded from the bar at the end of the match."
