Federer drops a bombshell: "What if we created a Fedal Tour?"
Three years after their last doubles match at the Laver Cup, Federer reignites the magic: what if he and Nadal organized their own exhibition tour?
Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal last faced each other in the semifinals of Wimbledon in 2019. Then, in 2022, the two men teamed up for a doubles match at the Laver Cup for a final match of honor to celebrate Federer's retirement announcement.
Now both retired from the professional circuit, Federer and Nadal have remained low-key, although the Swiss star is very prominent in the media this week with the organization of the Laver Cup in San Francisco.
In an interview with CNBC, the eight-time Wimbledon champion revealed the possible creation of a "Fedal Tour," as both men are motivated to return to the courts:
"Yes, why not? (organize a Fedal Tour). I love Rafa. I'm playing a lot right now, so I'm trying to stay in good shape. I know Rafa is totally up for playing a bit of tennis. For us, it seems awful to talk about senior tennis, but we could maybe create a circuit, like a Fedal Tour."
