Federer, Nadal or Djokovic? Fognini decides (and his anecdote will make you smile)

Invited to the podcast "Supernova" hosted by Alessandro Cattelan, Fabio Fognini surprised everyone. The former bad boy of Italian tennis, known for his raw talent as well as his fiery temperament, claims he doesn't miss the slightest bit since leaving the professional circuit.
"At the moment, to be honest, I don't miss tennis. I made my choice and I've never looked back. My idea was to help young people become professionals, trying to help them avoid the mistakes I made," he explains.
But it's undoubtedly his juicy anecdote about Federer and Nadal that will remain one of the highlights of this interview. Back to the 2019 Laver Cup. Fognini faces Jack Sock when he sees two familiar shadows appear behind him: Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal in person, ready to give him advice. The scene, both funny and surreal, literally confused him:
"I immediately talked about Sock, but Roger told me, 'No, you need to think about yourself.' Then Rafa started talking too. I had two voices in my ears. I went back on the court more confused than before. I thought, 'Federer and Nadal talked to me, what am I doing on the court now?' One to the right, the other to the left... even if I wanted to shoo them away, I couldn't!"
Then, when asked to choose between the three giants of modern tennis: Djokovic, Nadal, and Federer, Fognini doesn't hesitate:
"The best? I've always been a fan of Federer. Even though I have a lot of respect for Rafa and Nole."
