Juan Martin del Potro won his only Grand Slam tournament at the US Open in 2009. In the final, he defeated Roger Federer with a score of 3-6, 7-6, 4-6, 7-6, 6-2. In remarks quoted by Tages Anzeiger, the Swiss player looked back on this match.
He stated: "I should have won. At that time, I had back pain during the warm-up, then I wasted many opportunities. It was one of the matches I should not have lost."
