David Ferrer breaks his silence and responds directly to Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, who is absent from the 2025 Davis Cup finals.

Not selected by David Ferrer to face Germany in Bologna, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina expressed his disappointment with this choice, because "he thought he deserved it." But this weekend, the team captain wanted to clarify the situation. As a guest on El Partidazo de Cadena Cope, the Spaniard stated the following:

"I was afraid he would let us down at the last minute, as he had done during previous call-ups (Switzerland and Denmark). At that time, he had cited physical problems and mental fatigue.

I agree, but what is counterproductive is that he then played in Dallas in February and did the Asian tour in September. So he excluded himself. And in the meantime, it's thanks to the players who were present during the last matches that we are in the final (Munar and Pedro Martinez, notably)."

As a reminder, the Davis Cup finals will take place from November 18 to 23 in Bologna.

I've never thought much of the Davis cup, I don't understand why people bother. Tennis is an individual sport, trying to turn it into a national thing seems pointless. There is enough stupid nationalism going around.

A tennis player's income depends solely on his sporting results. In the event of injury, the daily life of those far from the Top 100 can become extremely complicated.

As we move to the end of this month and also closing out the year I am wishing all of those following me a Merry Christmas and a Happy/Healthy New Year.

Let's make that wish for all 2000 plus players hoping for 5 wins each day. Hoping ŵhen we open the results page to see all green, and no red. And especially NO CANCELED matches.

From me and my rotti JAZ, I bid you all good night, and see you in...

why did tennis tonic void predictions on the match between Chwalinska and Huergo at the Quito tournament? The match was played to completion and on time. If TT feels the match is one sided, and of course it was, then don't put it up for prediction. This is getting irritating.

The finals are here, and we scramble for the best finish. I've been chasing "King" all year and I was able to shrink the spread a little. Skelp is also closing the gap.

Seasons best to all the regulars in our league.

Will you all be back in the new year.?

Steffi Graf completed a Golden Slam (not just a career Grand Slam) when she was 19. She is the only person to accomplish that, winning the four majors plus Olympic gold the same calendar year.
