Ferrer on Nadal's Davis Cup selection: "He took the initiative".
It's one of the events of the end of the season. Rafael Nadal will be taking part in the Davis Cup finals in Malaga.
Commenting on the decision, David Ferrer, captain of the Spanish national team, explained that it came first and foremost from Nadal himself: "I spoke to him (before the group phase) and he told me how much he was looking forward to being there, should Spain qualify.
Once we'd secured the ticket, two days later we spoke again and he reiterated his desire to be there.
It was he who took the initiative and showed his intention to prepare, his motivation to be with us in Malaga.
