Arthur Fils and Ugo Humbert had a lot at stake at the ATP 500 in Tokyo. The former, the defending champion, unfortunately could not hold his position, still injured.
On his side, Humbert was eliminated in the first round by Jenson Brooksby in two sets.
These results have heavy consequences for the two French players: Humbert loses 320 points and virtually drops 2 places, landing at 26th. A bad omen for him, as he will have a final to defend at the Paris Masters 1000 in a few weeks.
As for Fils, he loses 500 points and virtually falls to 30th. In the next ranking, there will no longer be any French players in the Top 25, a first since September 2023.
