Fils looks back on his year: "I'm happy with the way I finished the season".
Beaten in the round of 16 in Paris by Alexander Zverev, Arthur Fils ended his 2024 season on a high note.
In a press conference, the French No.2 summed up the year 2024, which saw him win two ATP 500 titles and achieve a career-high ranking of 20th in the world: "The first part of the season was difficult. I was training well but I wasn't winning much. I wasn't at my best.
But then everything clicked. I knew I was starting to make progress in training and it finally paid off in my matches. It's been a complicated start to the season, but I'm happy with the way I've finished since Wimbledon.
You have to draw positive lessons from the season and I've reached my best ranking, so that's great."
Even though he leads the Next Gen Masters Race by a wide margin (over 1000 points ahead), it's hard to imagine Arthur Fils lining up in Jeddah this year.
And as for 2025, the Frenchman isn't thinking about next season just yet: "In terms of objectives and results, I don't know anything at the moment. I haven't discussed it with my team. You'll have to ask me that at the start of 2025."
