Fritz ready for Wimbledon after Eastbourne title!
Taylor Fritz came to Eastbourne to build up his confidence. The American achieved his goal, winning the title on Saturday. His 2nd on grass, having already lifted the trophy in 2022 at Eastbourne, and his 8th overall. In the final, he dominated Australian Max Purcell with authority, winning in 1 hour, 9 minutes and two sets (6-4, 6-3).
In 2022, the confidence he had built up enabled him to shine on the grass of Wimbledon. It took Rafael Nadal 5 sets to stop him in the quarter-finals (3-6, 7-5, 3-6, 7-5, 7-6). This year, he'll be aiming for a repeat performance at the All England Lawn Tennis Club, where he'll make his debut on Tuesday against another Australian, Christopher O'Connell.
