Richard Gasquet is probably playing in his last Wimbledon tournament. At the age of 38, the Biterrois no longer has the physique he once had. More adept on grass, Gasquet confirms his fighting spirit. Although he's a long way from his best, particularly physically, he hasn't lost his spark and reached the final qualifying round on Wednesday.
Facing Alexis Galarneau, 'Richie' made no bones about it. Feeling the ball very well, he won in just over 45 minutes (6-1, 6-0). To reach the final table, he will now have to master Vit Kopriva (123rd).
