Gauff and Andreeva Train Together Ahead of Their Debut in Rome
In recent days, Coco Gauff and Mirra Andreeva faced off in the quarterfinals of the WTA 1000 Madrid tournament. After a tightly contested first set, the American ultimately pulled ahead to win in straight sets (7-5, 6-1).
Gauff now leads their head-to-head 3-0 against the young Russian player, who just turned 18. With the draw for the WTA 1000 Rome now complete, both players know they could meet again in the quarterfinals—the same stage as in the Spanish capital.
Regardless, the two young stars are preparing for their opening matches on the same court, and the two top-10 players even trained together. As a reminder, Gauff will begin her Rome campaign against Arianna Zucchini or Victoria Mboko, while Andreeva will face Emiliana Arango or Viktoriya Tomova.
