While Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner clearly dominate the men's tour, Coco Gauff has given her opinion.

In an interview relayed by Tennis Up To Date, the 21-year-old American felt that the duo's dominance makes men's tennis predictable and that a third rival would revive the tour's appeal.

"Even though Carlos and Jannik are producing some great performances, we're talking about the need for a third champion. I think to make things more interesting, it's better to have different champions rather than always the same ones.

I don't want to minimize anything, their rivalry is fantastic and exciting for the sport. But in the long term, I find it more exciting, as a fan, to watch the quarter-finals and semi-finals without knowing who is going to win."

Indeed, for the past two seasons, the ATP tour has become the stage for a two-man duel. Alcaraz and Sinner have won the last eight Grand Slam titles, facing each other in the last three finals. A total reign, almost boring for their rivals and especially for a part of the audience.

And meanwhile, on the women's side, the hierarchy is shifting: Keys, Swiatek, Sabalenka, Gauff: four different champions in 2025. And that is precisely what the young American wants to celebrate: "It makes the sport more exciting, because everyone can dream of winning," she concludes.

Since February 2022 and the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, Ukrainian sport has been heavily affected by human, structural and economic losses. Tennis has, of course, not been spared. While Ukrainian athletes have had to rethink their entire organization, an entire country, behind the scenes, has had to adapt and change its training conditions. This extends all the way to the highest level, where professional players have spoken out, trying as best they can to help their nation.

As we move to the end of this month and also closing out the year I am wishing all of those following me a Merry Christmas and a Happy/Healthy New Year.

Let's make that wish for all 2000 plus players hoping for 5 wins each day. Hoping ŵhen we open the results page to see all green, and no red. And especially NO CANCELED matches.

From me and my rotti JAZ, I bid you all good night, and see you in...

why did tennis tonic void predictions on the match between Chwalinska and Huergo at the Quito tournament? The match was played to completion and on time. If TT feels the match is one sided, and of course it was, then don't put it up for prediction. This is getting irritating.

The finals are here, and we scramble for the best finish. I've been chasing "King" all year and I was able to shrink the spread a little. Skelp is also closing the gap.

Seasons best to all the regulars in our league.

Will you all be back in the new year.?

Steffi Graf completed a Golden Slam (not just a career Grand Slam) when she was 19. She is the only person to accomplish that, winning the four majors plus Olympic gold the same calendar year.
