Griekspoor and Darderi Set to Clash in Marrakech Final
A new name will be added to the winners' list of the ATP 250 in Marrakech.
Top-seeded Tallon Griekspoor lived up to his status in the semifinal against Kamil Majchrzak. The Polish qualifier had not dropped a single set on his way to the last four, defeating Munar, De Jong, and Müller in succession.
However, Griekspoor proved more clinical on break points (converting 2/3 compared to his opponent's 1/5) and held firm in the second-set tiebreak to secure a 7-5, 7-6 victory.
In the final, he will face Luciano Darderi, currently ranked No. 57 in the ATP rankings. The Italian earlier dispatched Roberto Carballes Baena (6-3, 6-2), the 2023 tournament champion and 2024 runner-up.
Darderi will aim to claim his second ATP title tomorrow, just a week after falling short in the Naples Challenger final. Meanwhile, Griekspoor will chase his first career title on clay.
