Griekspoor, first qualifier for the 2nd round, will challenge Zverev at Paris-Bercy

Tallon Griekspoor is the first player to qualify for the 2nd round of the Rolex Paris Masters 2024. The first to qualify on court, as the top 8 seeds of the event, in order Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz, Alexander Zverev, Daniil Medvedev, Taylor Fritz, Andrey Rublev, Casper Ruud and Grigor Dimitrov, are all exempt from the 1st round and therefore directly qualified for the 2nd.

Griekspoor was ruthless on Court n°2 of the Accor Arena. Imperial on his service games (9 points lost in 10 games), he needed just 56 minutes to eliminate Luciano Darderi with just two breaks, one in each set (6/3, 6/4).

In the next round, the Dutchman will have to be at least as effective, as world No.3 Zverev will attempt to block his path to the last 16.

The two men fought out a magnificent battle in the 3rd round of the Shanghai Masters 1000 three weeks ago. The German won by the narrowest of margins after almost three hours of play (7/6, 2/6, 7/6).
