Halys misses his chance against Cerundolo at Paris-Bercy

Quentin Halys has just lost in the 1st round of the final draw of the Rolex Paris Masters 2024. The Frenchman, ranked 90th in the world and a qualifier, was beaten by Francisco Cerundolo, ranked 29th in the world, in an hour and a half (7-6, 6-3) on the Centre Court of the Accor Arena.

Halys dominated the first set, but was unable to capitalize on his chances to close it out. He finally conceded in the tie-break.

The Argentinian then took the ascendancy in the 2nd set, breaking in the 4th game and giving his opponent no further opportunity to turn the match around. He will now face Andrey Rublev in a bid to reach the last 16.
