"He can never be excluded from the list of contenders," says Mauresmo regarding Djokovic at Roland-Garros
Djokovic is currently in Geneva, where he is trying to regain a very good level before Roland-Garros. After defeating Fucsovics and Arnaldi, the Serbian is qualified for the semi-finals. In an interview with Eurosport, the former world No. 1 discussed the situation of the Grand Slam record holder. According to her, the 38-year-old player should not be excluded from the title contenders:
"He is going to try to play a few matches there, try to feel a bit more confident in his game and mentally as well. He is still quite motivated to go play in Geneva and then come to Paris, hopefully with a few matches under his belt. Maybe he won't arrive here with high expectations, but he can never be excluded from the list of contenders, that's for sure."
Djokovic will play against the Briton Norrie on the central court in Geneva this Friday, May 23 (not before 3:30 pm).
