"He doesn't know how many more injuries he can endure," Thompson updates on Kyrgios
Absent from the courts since Miami, Kyrgios was supposed to participate in doubles at the Roland Garros tournament with Jordan Thompson. However, the Australian, who has dropped to 633rd in the world rankings, withdrew a few days before the event. This situation was explained by his compatriot in the press area in Paris:
"Nick was very enthusiastic about playing here. He was constantly messaging me every week asking if I was ready to play doubles at Roland Garros. I know he was training on clay in Australia, but a few days ago, Nick told me he did something to his knee and unfortunately couldn't be here.
He was very depressed. He told me he doesn't know how many more injuries he can take. You can only feel sorry for him because even if he says things in the media, I think he loves playing tennis and being on the court."
Thompson was competing in singles and was defeated by Lehecka in three sets (6-4, 6-2, 6-1).
