Damir Dzumhur will face Carlos Alcaraz this Sunday in Cincinnati. The Bosnian had already crossed paths with the Spaniard a few months ago at Roland-Garros.

Asked by the ATP, he described his upcoming opponent and stated that, regardless of the match's outcome, he is primarily happy to be in good health.

"I lost the match at Roland-Garros, but I felt very special emotions facing one of the best players in the world on such a special stage—someone who will probably be one of the greatest players in history.

He has a plan A, B, C, D, and probably every letter of the alphabet. He's one of the fastest players, and his game is so varied that he can play it at the highest level.

Now I have the opportunity to face Alcaraz for the second time this year in Cincinnati. I’ll try to give my best and rediscover the game that allowed me to beat him sometimes a few months ago.

We’ll see. The most important thing is being here. Three years ago, I was on the brink of death. Now, I can do what I love.

Despite top-10 ATP rankings and consistent excellence, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Gaël Monfils, Richard Gasquet, and Gilles Simon never claimed a Grand Slam title, enduring mockery from French media amid Big 3 dominance. A deep dive into a talented generation defined by sky-high expectations and brutal competition.

As much as I love watching Alcaraz at his best, I'd love to see Alex taking this, he's such a tryer, and getting married and his humour and humility...

Favoritism?

Last year: Sinner seed 1, the organizers schedule Alcaraz on day 1, Sinner on day 2.

This year: Alcaraz seed 1, the organizers schedule Alcaraz on day 1, Sinner on day 3.

That means: 7 matches in 15 days for Alcaraz, 7 in 13 days for Sinner; and no rest day for Sinner between quarter and semis, 1 full day rest for Alcaraz.

Also, on the first very hot day, the organizers schedule Sinner...
