He's the one who trains the most, during and outside of tournaments," Marcelo Melo's confessions about his friendship with Zverev

In a video released by the ATP, Alexander Zverev and Marcelo Melo revisited the beginning of their friendship. Having become very close, they even played doubles together on the tour.
"We became friends in Beijing in 2015. The first time we spoke was in the locker room. Then, we both arrived early in Stockholm and had nothing to do, so we went to eat at a sushi restaurant and then bought a PlayStation.
Initially, our friendship was born because we were both very bored on the tour. Since we're on the road all year and tennis is very stressful, especially for him who plays both singles and doubles, we need to have fun with friends," the German first stated.
For his part, the Brazilian used this opportunity to highlight the career of the current world number 3. According to him, the 28-year-old player deserves more than anyone to win a Grand Slam:
"I think he has accomplished everything he wanted on a tennis court. One day or another, there will be an end. I wish for him to find happiness outside of this sport. That's very important. Now, he knows how much I want to see him win a Grand Slam.
I think he deserves it. He's the one who trains the most, during and outside of tournaments, to win. I think he and his family deserve a lot. I'm sure he will achieve it, sooner or later. No matter which one, he will get there. I wish it with all my heart.
