Julien Varlet slams Zverev: "His match highlights all his weaknesses"
Julien Varlet was not gentle following Alexander Zverev's defeat in Turin.
Zverev continues to disappoint tennis fans and observers endlessly. Facing Auger-Aliassime on Friday night for a spot in the semifinals of the ATP Finals, the German lost (6-4, 7-6), once again revealing all his weaknesses, as Julien Varlet points out:
"His match highlights everything he hasn't worked on compared to other players like Sinner, Alcaraz, or even Djokovic with his slice. Zverev relies only on his strengths: his serve and his defensive game. And here, his match really brings out all his flaws: his passivity and his net play.
I cannot imagine that a Sasha Zverev doesn't volley better. He tried in the second set, but he is so lacking in confidence. Every year we talk about him, but he hasn't evolved his game in 5, 7, 8 years," declared the former French player on the "Sans Filet" show on Winamax.
