Hewitt son's Australian Open wild card draws fierce criticism

Cruz Hewitt, Lleyton's son, has received a wild card to play in the Australian Open qualifiers. At just 16 years of age, the young Australian has very few references in the world of professional tennis.

He has only played 4 Challengers, including just two main draws. For some tennis fans, this wild card is frowned upon, due to his relationship with former world No. 1 Lleyton.

Some say: "Ranked 1264th on the ATP... I wonder why he got a wild card", or sarcastically: "Cruz didn't get here on his own merit. I wonder how he got here."

Cruz Hewitt will have to prove that he deserves his wild card in these qualifiers.
