Kyrgios withdraws from Davis Cup with Australia
Beaten in the 1st round in Brisbane and at the Australian Open, Nick Kyrgios has missed his return to competition after almost two years without playing.
With an abdominal injury sustained in Melbourne, the former Wimbledon finalist will miss this weekend's Davis Cup match between Australia and Sweden.
His captain, Lleyton Hewitt, announced his withdrawal to the media: "Nick won't be coming here. He suffered a few injuries over the summer. I was very happy that he would be back in the team, but that's not the case.
It's not surprising that he got injured trying to play a best-of-five set match without having played many matches beforehand.
We'll keep our fingers crossed that he wins this round and becomes an option in the future."
