Highest US Open Final Viewership in a Decade for Alcaraz vs. Sinner
Three days after Carlos Alcaraz’s victory at the US Open, broadcaster ESPN revealed the viewership numbers for the finals.
With 3 million viewers tuning in for the 15th duel between Alcaraz and Sinner, this marks ESPN’s highest viewership in ten years, since the final that pitted Novak Djokovic against Roger Federer.
For comparison, last year’s matchup between Sinner and Fritz drew only 1.7 million viewers.
On the women’s side, the numbers are also on the rise, with 2.4 million people tuning in to watch Aryna Sabalenka defeat American Amanda Anisimova.
Over the past decade, the record is held by the 2019 final won by Bianca Andreescu against Serena Williams (3.7 million viewers), just ahead of the 2023 final where Coco Gauff triumphed over Sabalenka (3.4 million viewers).
