Humbert apologizes: "I contacted him personally".

Ugo Humbert has broken his silence.
While criticism of him had been raging since his semi-final on Saturday, the Frenchman was keen to return to the subject.
As a reminder, the French No. 1 was lambasted for his behavior during his Paris-Bercy semi-final against Karen Khachanov.
Indeed, while the Russian was clearly injured, Humbert had continued to encourage himself in a very expressive manner, drawing the wrath of several people, including Khachanov himself.
Returning to the controversy, the Tricolore declared on his social networks: "Hello everyone. I wanted to say something following the controversy after my semi-final against Karen.
After the physio's intervention, I perceived it as cramps, being on the verge of cramps myself after more than 2h30 of intense play.
I've lost other matches this year in similar circumstances, and this time I stayed very focused on the goal. I'm sorry to see this misunderstood and, worse still, described as a lack of fair play on my part.
I have contacted her personally to apologize. I have great respect for Karen and for all the opponents I've had to meet so far.
This will serve as a lesson for me to act better in the future. Thank you to everyone who has supported me this week.
It has taught me a lot in every respect.
