Humbert explodes, Fils is crowned Tokyo champion!

What a high-flying final!

In a very tense final between compatriots, it was finally Arthur Fils who clinched the title after just over 3 hours of battle (5-7, 7-6, 6-3).

Dominated at the start of the match, the French No.2 once again demonstrated his incredible resilience.

Trailing by a set, the 20-year-old even saved a title point before snatching the second act in the tie-break.

Taking advantage of a slightly collapsed Humbert, Fils accelerated perfectly towards the end of the match to win and secure one of the finest titles of his career.

Capping off a superb week in which he played a great deal (spending almost 12 hours on court), he wins his second title of the season, following on from his Hamburg triumph in July.
