Humbert: "Having a foreign coach is a bit complicated for me".
A few weeks ago, Ugo Humbert announced the end of his collaboration with Jérémy Chardy.
His official coach is now Fabrice Martin, who had announced a break from the professional circuit to devote himself to coaching Humbert.
In an interview with L'Équipe, the Frenchman was asked about Chardy's departure and whether the fact that Gilles Simon and Goran Ivanisevic are now available had given him any ideas.
He replies: "I already have a team around me. Jérémy's gone, my team's fine as it is, so I'm not necessarily looking for someone else.
If ever, at some point, I need an extra person, I'll think about it, but for the moment it's not the priority at all.
Having a stranger is a bit complicated for me.
Speaking English and all that, I'm not sure I'll have 100% of the relationship...
That's why I prefer to have someone who speaks French, so I can express myself, say what I think and understand, too.
I saw that Goran was mentioned, but I thought 'What are they talking about'?"
