Humbert is frustrated: "In Madrid, I hit all week with sparring partners"

Since the UTS Nîmes, Ugo Humbert, the world No. 22, has been dealing with a fracture in his fifth metacarpal and has been playing with a heavy bandage on his right hand. Since his injury, the Frenchman has lost three out of his four matches on clay.
Despite a strong fight, the Metz native ultimately fell to Alexandre Muller (6-2, 6-7, 7-6). In the post-match press conference, the 26-year-old player shared what he’s been going through in tournament preparation since playing with his hand taped up.
"No one wants to train with me anymore! As a lefty, it’s already complicated, but with one less finger, it’s worse. In Madrid, I hit all week with sparring partners.
Last week in Munich, I had signed up to train with Cerundolo. But an hour before practice, without telling me, he signed with another guy. It drives me crazy!
In the end, I played for half an hour with my physio. It’s really a shark-eat-shark world," he lamented, as reported by *L'Équipe*.
