Hurkacz pays tribute to Sinner and his team: "You're incredible".
Hubert Hurkacz has no reason to be ashamed of his performance. In his first grass-court tournament of the season, the Pole reached the final in Halle, beating Zverev in the process (7-6, 6-4).
Unfortunately for him, he came up against a slightly better player on Sunday: Jannik Sinner. Although he didn't dominate the match, the Transalpine was able to make the difference when it mattered, winning in two tight sets (7-6, 7-6).
Although very disappointed, Hurkacz was very fair-play after the duel, praising his opponent and his entire team: "Congratulations to Jannik and his team. You are incredible. What you've achieved over the last 12 months is truly inspiring.
The fact that Jannik has become number 1 in the world is really something special. I try to draw inspiration from that every day. A big well done to all of you."
