Suffering from a muscle edema with a very high risk of rupture, Carlos Alcaraz was forced to withdraw from the Davis Cup Final 8 with Spain. In comments relayed by Punto de Break, the Spaniard stated: "I came here with a lot of enthusiasm for the competition, to play for Spain and represent it in the Davis Cup, but in the end, things don't always go as planned and you have to accept it.
It is now time to return home to recover and be ready for the pre-season, in order to start the year in the best possible conditions. I will support the team from home.
