"I can't train much," Zverev discusses his physical problems
Alexander Zverev is having a 2025 season that probably doesn't meet his expectations. The German has also been suffering from back problems since this summer.
In a press conference, he discussed these issues: "It's been tough, starting with training. Unfortunately, I can't train much because this problem requires more rest than usual.
It's difficult to manage, but it's a pain that ends up becoming very bothersome if not properly taken care of, that's just how it is. The seasons on the tour are very long, we've known that from the beginning, so every player has their own problems and discomforts.
For me, this year, it's a back problem, but I'll keep trying to give 100% every time I step onto the court. I've had two injections so far, and that helps me."
Zverev will make his debut in Shanghai against Valentin Royer or Mariano Navone.
