"I will have more information tomorrow about my body and my mind," says Sinner upon arriving in Shanghai
Jannik Sinner has arrived in Shanghai after winning the title in Beijing against Learner Tien. The Italian, the defending champion, comes in as the heavy favorite due to the absence of Carlos Alcaraz.
But he also experienced health issues in Beijing, which he updated on during a press conference when he arrived in Shanghai.
"I feel good. I said before playing the final in Beijing that I was ready. Here, the situation is different; everything is more humid and hotter. I don't know how I'll feel on the court, but at least I'll have a day of rest.
Tomorrow, I will have more information about my body and my mind, then I will start preparing for my first-round match. We'll see. I'm really looking forward to it; it will be a big challenge.
Playing a first round is never easy, so we'll see. I hope to show some excellent tennis."
Sinner will make his debut against Daniel Altmaier.
