"I can't wait for the next round," says Boisson after her victory over Pegula
Boisson made headlines after her Round of 16 win at Roland-Garros. Facing world No. 3 Pegula, the young Frenchwoman electrified the crowd on Court Philippe-Chatrier with her victory (3-6, 6-4, 6-4). Interviewed on court after her feat, she spoke to Alizé Cornet’s microphone:
"I really don’t know what to say—thank you to the crowd for letting us play on this court with such an amazing atmosphere. I believed I could do it, but I knew she was super strong. It was during the match, when I saw there was a real battle, that I gave everything I had. Now, I just want to win, that’s all.
It’s incredible, these are emotions I can’t even describe. I can’t wait for the next round. Not many people could’ve predicted this because it’s such a high level."
In the next round, she will face young Russian Mirra Andreeva.
