"I can't wait to take on this next challenge," says Djokovic ahead of his match against Zverev
Djokovic delivered another very solid performance against Norrie in the round of 16, securing his 100th match win at Roland Garros. During the press conference, the Serbian reflected on this latest victory and discussed his upcoming clash against last year's finalist, Zverev:
"It was one of my best matches—hopefully not the best yet. The way I was hitting the ball, I think I played solidly. I can always hope to do better. But considering the opponent's form, the round of 16, and the occasion, it was a very good match. I'm happy with how things are going so far. Obviously, the matches are getting tougher and tougher. Against Zverev, I can't wait to take on this next challenge."
The two players have faced each other 13 times on the tour, with the 38-year-old holding the advantage. Their last meeting was at the Australian Open, where the German benefited from the Serbian's retirement after the first set. As for their last encounter on clay, it was right here in Paris during the 2019 edition, when Djokovic won in straight sets (7-5, 6-2, 6-2).
