I didn't realize it at the beginning of the match," Alcaraz discusses Sinner's withdrawal
Unfortunately, the Cincinnati Masters 1000 final could not be completed due to Jannik Sinner's withdrawal, as he was feeling unwell on the court.
When asked about it, Alcaraz revealed that he did not realize his opponent's suffering at the start of the match.
"I know Sinner and his game very well. Honestly, I didn't realize he was struggling at the beginning of the match.
Then, in the third game, I noticed that he was making many more errors and being much more aggressive than usual. At that point, I understood that something was wrong with him.
I just tried to stay focused; my goal was to keep playing the way I was. I'm disappointed that I only got to play five games against Sinner.
