I don't know how I won": Swiatek's powerful words after her title in Seoul

"I don't know how I managed to win": Swiatek's sincere confession illustrates the madness of a final she snatched with courage, before paying tribute to her father.
Iga Swiatek had to dig deep to claim the 25th title of her career in Seoul. The world No. 2, the main headliner of this South Korean week, was challenged by Ekaterina Alexandrova before having the last word after 2h42 of play (1-6, 7-6, 7-5).
During the trophy ceremony, the Polish player wanted to acknowledge her opponent's level, expressing surprise at having been able to turn the tide in this final:
"I want to congratulate Ekaterina for this incredible week and this final. I don't know how I managed to win. You were playing so well. I was just trying to stay alive. Congratulations to your team too, you are doing an amazing job. I hope we will play more finals.
I am happy to have been able to win here because of my family history. My father couldn't win the Olympics (in Seoul in 1988), but at least I won the tournament, so I hope he will come here next year to enjoy all of this.
