I don't know how my body will react in the coming days," Djokovic doubts
Novak Djokovic advanced to the US Open semifinals by defeating Taylor Fritz. Despite the win, the Serbian was not fully satisfied with his performance.
"He was better in the second and third sets. I thought, in my opinion, that I wasn't playing well. I don't know. I wasn't feeling the ball as well as in the third round.
It's one of those days where you have to give it your all, you know. You just have to play with your heart and fight. That's what really got me the win."
As he prepares to face Carlos Alcaraz in the semifinals, Djokovic leaves a question mark regarding his physical condition. At 38 years old, it's clear the Serbian is not in the same shape as before.
"The next few days are really crucial for me to recover and be ready to play five sets if necessary. I'd like to be fit enough to potentially play five sets against Carlos.
I know I'll have to give my best, but I'll be up to the task. I love playing big matches on the big stage. It's just that I really don't know how my body will react in the coming days.
I don't feel very fresh right now, but I hope in two days it will be different.
