I feel like this season is endless," says Atmane
Térence Atmane was knocked out in his first match at the Rolex Paris Masters. An invitee from the organizers, he lost in three sets to Aleksandar Vukic, suffering his 4th consecutive defeat.
In an interview with Tennis Actu, the Frenchman shared his state of mind: "I don't think I 'gave up' in the third set. He was simply better than me in the first and the third, that's why he wins today.
He had periods of inconsistency, which allowed me to take the second set. On my side, I tried to do what I had to do on the court: impose my game, take the initiative, be aggressive when necessary.
Indoor tennis is still complicated for me: I lack references, I have very few matches under these conditions. Here, the courts are quite slow; when the ball comes back often, it's not easy to set up my game.
But it's part of the learning process: next time, I'll come back stronger. Next week, I will give everything until the last point, as always, and we'll see."
Atmane then discussed his 2025 season and the length of the calendar, as he is still entered in the Metz tournament and will play team matches with his club in Boulogne-sur-Mer.
"We are reaching the end of the season: I will try to do my best. I still have one tournament next week—it will be my 34th of the season, that's a lot, sometimes I feel like it's endless...
But I am happy to be here and to still have a chance to do well. After that, it's time for the team matches with Boulogne-sur-Mer, then it will be time to prepare for the next season, which is coming very quickly.
