"I Had to Delete My Account Because of This," the Unusual Reason That Led Gauff to Quit Twitter
In an interview shared by *Tennis Up To Date*, Coco Gauff discussed her relationship with social media. While the American is part of the generation that grew up with it, she explained that she recently had to take a step back. The reason? Her addiction to reality TV and the time spent scrolling through various apps, among other things.
"I had to delete Twitter after last week because I was getting too involved in reality TV shows (*Love Island*). Then, for some reason, *The Summer I Turned Pretty* was about to come out—I’d never watched it, but I was getting hooked even without seeing the series!
Plus, the time I spent surfing through different apps made me decide to stop. I told myself, 'Okay, I’m getting too addicted.'"
On the sports side, the 21-year-old player is competing in the WTA 1000 in Cincinnati. After advancing to the third round by defeating China’s Wang (6-3, 6-2), she will face Ukraine’s Yastremska.
