"I just got back from the pool," Bergs jokes about playing conditions in Shanghai
The Shanghai Masters 1000, taking place from October 1st to 12th, is marked by heat and extreme humidity conditions. This Sunday, two additional players retired during their matches.
While many players have spoken out about this, including Novak Djokovic, Zizou Bergs preferred to joke about the situation during his match against Francisco Cerundolo.
The Belgian took a bathroom break after winning the first set, to cool down and change clothes.
Upon returning to the court, he appeared shirtless with a towel on his back, announcing: "I just got back from the pool."
Bergs won 7-6, 6-3 against Cerundolo and will face Gabriel Diallo for a spot in the quarterfinals.
