I like Novak because many people follow him and others don't like him," Kyrgios speaks on trash talk
Alexander Bublik, host of the podcast 'Tea with Bublik,' welcomed Nick Kyrgios in New York, an opportunity to catch up with the still-injured Australian and get his opinion on certain topics.
During the podcast, Bublik brought up trash talk, a practice Kyrgios enjoys and engages in. When asked why he does it, the Australian replied:
"I think it's great for the sport. That's what tennis is missing. People like each other too much, and I don't think that's realistic.
That's why I like Novak—there are many people who follow him and others who don't like him.
I don't think it's possible to be liked by everyone. For me, the sport needs more of this. I think trash talk is healthy, it's competition. Some aren't even my friends, so I don't care.
You, for example, when you play, I watch, I want you to succeed, I like you as a tennis player, you're comfortable in your own skin, but half the others I don't care about, it's a show.
