Jannik Sinner had decided to part ways with his former fitness coach, Umberto Ferrara, in August 2024.

This decision was made due to the suspension of the world No. 1, which lasted for three months.

Ferrara later joined Matteo Berrettini’s team but stayed only from January to June 2025.

At the end of July, Sinner announced the return of his former fitness coach to his team. During a press conference, he was asked about the reason for this reunion.

"It was a different situation. Now, everything is different. I felt that at this stage, I needed someone who knows my body better.

We worked together for about two years before this break. His work was very beneficial for me.

We worked on all aspects of my body: mobility, stability, and even my endurance improved. I think he did an excellent job.
